A walk right on your doorstep

A short, relaxing walk straight from the Apparthotel Bliem takes you to the idyllic Braunhofer Pond in the heart of Rohrmoos – ideal for a quiet afternoon or a short stroll after breakfast to aid digestion.

Mushroom Trail at the foot of the Hochwurzen

Just a few steps from the Hochwurzen valley station, the Schwammerlweg winds its way gently through the woods. An entertaining nature trail that is particularly popular with families with young children. 4 minutes’ drive away – 2.1 km

Rohrmoos Fairy Tale Trail

This popular circular walking trail in Upper Rohrmoos has been delighting families for decades: along the pram-friendly path, you’ll find a Viking ship, a zip line, slides and seesaws, as well as the main highlight – the witch’s cottage with Hansel and Gretel. There’s also a magnificent view of the Dachstein massif. 3 minutes’ drive away – 1.4 km

Children’s Afternoon at the Waldhäuslalm

Every Tuesday from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm, the Waldhäuslalm in Untertal is transformed into a children’s paradise: games, painting, crafts, face painting and a visit from Clown Lupino – whatever the weather and with no need to book in advance. With the Summer Card, it’s even free to take part. 10 minutes’ drive away – 7.3 km

Wild Waters – Riesach Waterfall

The Riesach Falls in the rear part of the Untertal valley are among the highest waterfalls in Styria. Along the ‘Wild Waters’ themed trail, you’ll experience thundering torrents, viewing platforms and a spectacular suspension bridge – an impressive natural spectacle for the whole family. 16 minutes’ drive away – 10.8 km

The Hochwurzen, our local mountain

On the Hochwurzen, the cosy ‘Bankerlweg’ trail awaits you, featuring 25 quirky places to sit. Those who prefer a more active challenge can tackle the more demanding summit routes. For a bit of thrills, try the mountain go-karts, which will whisk you back down into the valley at breakneck speed along a 7 km forest track. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can simply enjoy the view of the Dachstein massif and stop off at one of the rustic huts. 4 mins by car – 2.1 km

Skiing

From our aparthotel, you can head straight into the 4-mountain ski area comprising Hochwurzen, Planai, Reiteralm and Hauser Kaibling. State-of-the-art ski lifts, perfectly groomed slopes and a traditional mountain hut atmosphere await you – and when snow conditions are good, you can even ski right in and out. Or it’s a 4-minute drive away – 2.1 km
